Getting back into the swing of things slowly after 5 weeks post-op on the knee. I thought it would be a snap & I'd be running on the treadmill in no time but the knee is coming slowly & with physical therapy 3 times a week, you would think it would heal faster. VERY HARD trying to be patient & baby it. Catching up on Fall cleaning around the house though. Slipcovers have come off & popped into the wash. Rooms moved around for the new colder season that's upon us. I even have my own little t.v. room where I can escape when my hubby is watching something that bores m e! LOL! I have my own little slice of heaven in the living room with my t.v. hidden in a favorite armoire, a stack of decorating mags, good books, & the always present m&m's. The fireplace is nearby & a cozy nest it will be! Never ended up taking the knitting class I wanted to take , but my mom can teach me (it's been so long I forgot what my grandmother taught me years ago!)Catching up with old friends for lunch & taking in chic flicks with friends when hubby has been away golfing. I love this time of year~it makes me want to dig in & nest & enjoy my home. Always a project to work on or some cooking & baking to do. It's my favorite time of the year to cook, light a candle, put on a cd & just chill while the leaves swirl around outside. I've missed blogging & reading favorite blogs but needed to take the time away from the computer for a bit. You know I'll be catching up on favorite blogs all week! Take a peek at my newly re-arranged t.v. space~what do you think?! I'll post pics of my comfy down filled chairs tomorrow! xo
Cozy fireplace ready to be lit very soon~
Two Cozy over-stuffed chairs that are a few of the things to get comfy on in my new t.v.space. Does anyone even use a living room anymore? I would actually call this a second family room! The pretty shabby sweet coffee table in front of the chairs has now been replaced with the ottomon down below! now I can put my sore knee up & ice it while relaxing!LOL! :)
Isn't this a great tassel? I bought it at a favorite store near our beach house but you can get them here....Kelly Paulk Tassels Take a peek & see all her whimsical tassels~I love them all!xo

Welcome back to blogland Chris! I am sorry to hear that it is taking so long for your knee to heal.
I love this time of the year too. I have been taking hikes in the forest, horse back riding and enjoying the beautiful colors of fall in the NC mountains.
Your living room is looking cozy! Looking forward to your next post.

HEY YOU!!
Glad to see you back and getting around and about... I too have been taking it real slow... having a bit of trouble with the toes.. LOL but one "step" at a time... Dr said it may or may not be permanent..
I have been finally catching up on the blogs but have not really posted anything ... guess its time to get my rear in gear.... or my foot in step... guess the rear will follow hehe

Chris,
Glad to see you back and your cozy nest looks perfect for the colder days that seem here to stay.
I finally remembered to tell Mary that you had sent condolences. She told me what a nice girl you were and filled me in on your life. One thing about Mary...she knows everyones stories, lol. Bob says it is just a Portuguese mother thing! Take care of the knee and enjoy your nesting.

Hey Chris,
I hope you are heeling nicely. I know that is frustrating to say the least, especially when you are so active. Your little tv space is gorgeous!! My gosh I love it all and wish I had my own little nook. I am with you all the way on the feel of fall, I want to bake, and knit and just listen to a fire crackling. Please take it easy, and before you know it you will be playing tennis!!
:)
Hugs,
Teresa

Hi Doll! So glad that I popped in to see if you were back on line or not and YOU ARE!! I hope that the knee is healing well, just give it time:-). My sister had two back surgeries this year and the Dr told her to think of the time off work as "a gift to herself". Sage advice! ~XO~ Fufu

I love your TV nook. I've been trying to come up with something like it as DH rules the TV room with his gun closet and western DVD collection. I am slowly appropriating our "living room" which has a fireplace, etc, but is also decorated in a very masculine style. I've been slowly adding pillows, valances and softening touches. this is great inspiration !!!!

I just happened upon your site while searching "slipcovers". Love your rooms and style. I don't know if this is the correct forum, but may I ask about the slipcovers on your chairs. Exactly what I'm looking to have made but don't know where to start. Thanks so much.

Would you please share what paint colors you use on your walls? I always have a hard time finding the right shade. Your rooms are beautiful.

Hi Chris
Congratulations on winning Penny's mosiac giveaway. I won it a previous time and was so thrilled to own a piece of her work.
Your home is beautiful and I'm glad to hear you are recovering from the surgery.
