Just a quickie post to congratulate our home team the Celtics! We are a huge basketball family here & last nights game was a dream come true! I'll be back in a few days to post about one of my favorite flowers HYDRANGEAS! My gardens are almost at full peak & will be posting pretty pics of them soon! Have a wonderful rest of the week! xo
School vacation this week in Masschusetts so I offered to take my grandaughter Gabby & her two friends in to Boston for the day. It's always a treat for me to hop on the train for the 50 minute ride in avoiding all the traffic driving in would encounter! The weather here has been picture perfect & yesterday was no exception as we put on shorts & tee shirts to walk around & explore. Of course with 3 13 year olds the theme of the day was "SHOPPING" We walked over to Faneuil Hall( also called the Quincy Market) & shopped until we dropped & believe me grandma almost dropped! LOL! Lots & lots of walking in Boston & I swear we put on 10 miles just walking around shopping all day! Lots of fun & loads of people in town, so it was a fun day with the girls who were very well behaved all day! Lots of giggling all day between the three of them. Every time a good looking boy walked by I knew the giggles would start! I got to visit some favorite shops as well as favorite "cookie haunts" (my downfall) & all in all it was a fabulous day! If any of you watched the 5 week miniseries "JOHN ADAMS" like I did faithfully each week (I'm a history freak!) you would appreciate the sights & sounds of Boston & the history in the air there! We are SO lucky to live 30 minutes by car & 50 minutes by train! Hubby works there & he even popped over to say "HI!" The BEST shopping & historical sites in our neck of the woods!

We didnt' get to "Beacon Hill" my absolute favorite place to get unbeleivable window box ideas & to just to see the historical "federal style" dwellings.(13 year olds SO NOT interested in that!) Some of the states most affluent people live here.
Tomorrow it's my grandsons turn to have a day with a few friends & grandma as their chauffeur & chaperone. It will probably be a skateboard park, lunch & a movie-boys are SO easy! LOL!

Don't you just LOVE this character???S HE (or he) cracks me up when I see her as a guest on a talk show or doing an interview in a magazine! Her ensemble gets me every time~How about those glasses??!! A true DIVA I'm sure she has some FABulous plans for Valentines Day! This is the scene today looking outside my office window! MORE SNOW & some freezing rain mixed in for some added drama! LOL! My pretty topiaries (two in each window box across the front of the house) are weathering the snow & rain well & make for such a pretty picture looking out the window today! A candle is burning in each window & it makes for a cozy scene while we are all tucked away in our warm home with a fire blazing. Made up a batch of cinnamon french toast & warm crispy bacon this morning~smells sooo good! My husband is more concerned about the BIG game today at Gillette stadium( 5 miles up the road) with the Jets & the Patriots playing than he is about maybe how he may be getting to work in the morning?! LOL!!! It's all he has been talking about all morning as he takes shifts keeping the snow & ice from accumulating on the driveway! Most of the patriots players live nearby & it's so common to see them attending a basketball game for one of their kids or just around town. My grandson Cole just happened to have small football(smart thinking huh?) while trick or treating at one of the players homes & he was kind enough to sign it! So with the snow & the rain, it will certainly be interesting & tense for us watching! Lots of our friends have season tickets & will be braving this awful storm! AGHHH! Hope you & yours are tucked in cozy if you are anywhere where the weather is bad! For those of my friends that are in the sun & you know who you are lol! enjoy your WARM Sunday!!!!! I just booked our flights for Florida in January & February~I can feel the sun on my skin already! xo

Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was WONDERFUL!!! Mine was a lot of work but a lot of fun & lots of good eating!! (way to much good eating!) I'm off & running today & SO excited to be checking out the newest rachell ashwell shabby chic store at the brand new Natick Collections at the newly re-done Natick Mall. Rumor has it that it's one of the BEST shabby chic stores! I'm leaving shortly for my grandaughter gabby's cheering competition in Springfield, Ma (If they win they get to go to Florida to compete!) & then on the way home I'll hit the new shabby chic boutique!!! I'll be sure to give a good report on all the goodies I'm sure to find there! Have a WONDERFUL weekend!
I am having so much fun reading all your posts & meeting so many new bloggers! Your comments have been so kind & I look forward to staying in touch with all of you! I am still planning on drawing a winner tomorrow, but it won't be until I get back from CT. It's a sudden trip out of town to attend the wake & funeral of my dad's dental school roomate. Our families are close & I need to go with my parents. So sad... my mom lost her best friend two weeks ago & now another close family friend. I never get used to these things even thought they are such a fact of life as we get older.
