Taking Time....

Taking time for a little R & R this week. Finishing up some last minute garden projects for clients & opening up the beach house for the summer. A little late in doing the latter because we have been so busy this month! Hoping to re-charge my batteries a bit over the holiday weekend & just relax, enjoy family & friends, get to the beach & of course hunt for more treasures to add to my website! It's so relaxing near the water isn't it? I love to garden at my little lavender stucco cottage  near the water, so I'll fit that in as well. Hope all of you are taking time to re-charge & enjoy the holiday weekend too! I'll be back next week hopefully rested & sporting a great beach tan (I know it's not healthy but it's my one bad vice~well that & lots of chocolate! LOL) Have a safe, fun, fantastic 4th of July my friends! xo

A Few Of My Favorite Things....

It was a busy weekend here at my house as usual & with the torrential downpours we had it was hard to venture out on saturday. I decided to move things around a bit & re-vamp for the spring. As I was dragging pieces into other rooms & re-arranging artwork & pillows etc... I realized that there are just some things that must stay out in plain site to enjoy because they are my absolute favorite things. These things are special because there is either sentiment attached to them or they are just plain wonderful to look at & give me a feeling of complete happiness when I look at them. I thought I would share with you some of my favorite things........

This is a new "special piece" bought last week at a wonderful french inspired shop I visited called The French Market.  It is fast becoming one of my favorite things!

A totally awesome french chair my mom bought for me when we were out antiquiqing one day~not happy with what I covered the seat in. When I find the right shade of soft minty green velvet I'll be happy!

This sits near my computer & reminds me that even when there are bad days you need to "LAUGH" & I really do!

Taking a little blog break to enjoy the SUPER BOWL! We have lots of friends that are in Arizona cheering our team on to another WIN!! Have a BLAST!!!!

Catching Up & Some Pretty Whimsy....

I LOVE THESE SLIPPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh isn't it SO hard to catch up after a vacation??? Seems as though I can NOT get out of my own way & get going! ALmost like I have jet lag. Can you get jet lag on a 3 hour flight? LOL! I wanted to post these pretty things I recieved for my birthday from my dear friend Tara at Bella Pink Cafe that were waiting for me when I got home last week! Anything sent from Mackenzie always comes beautifully boxed & wrapped. It's a crime to pull everything apart to peek inside! SO pretty & right up my alley since I love ANYTHING Mackenzie-Childs! Just look at these whimsical slippers! I LOVE them & they are SO comfortable. The gorgeous calender will go in my girly office & the salt & pepper shakers in my kitchen cabinet with the other pieces I have collected. A pretty mercury glass candle stick sits on my mantel & also included was a beautifully wrapped pacakge of soaps with a gorgeous black & white cover & a purple french ribbon securing them!(forgot to take that picture!) THANK YOU TARA for all the goodies! You are so good to your old Lady friend tutti!  I will enjoy these forever! xo

Fabulous Mercury Glass Candlestick Holder & Salt & Pepper Shakers~So sweet!

Knobs my mom bought me to finish my kitchen cabinets off! We got these at one of my favorite stores ZAZOU.  Zazou  in Naples, Florida is almost as good as going into the Mackenzie-Childs store on worth avenue in Palm Beach, Florida!

Hubby drilled the holes for the knobs & they are all attached to my kitchen drawers & cabinets! Only 3 more knobs needed to complete the job!

I've been eyeing this gorgeous funky pitcher for a while & my mom suprised me at Christmas with it!My mom always gets me the best stuff. Of course my dad never has a clue what is in the box! LOL!

Thought I would post pics of some sweet, cheap finds I picked up at Home Goods (my home away from home) Not sure how I'm going to perk them up yet. I'm not sure the wreath holder will stay silver & I know for sure the pretty leafy wreath won't stay plain. I have  some pretty gauzy french ribbon that will look fabulous on the wreath but will have to think about what else to add to make it more me! Should be fun~I'll post pics when I'm finished spiffing these things up!
