Hi
there and welcome to Lucy's Lounge at Tutti Chic! Why Lucy’s
lounge for a blog name? It was only appropriate since my life
sometimes mimics a Lucy episode! Here’s a little background… I
am the oldest of 5 children. My dad a dentist & my mom a stay at
home mom. I have been married for 29 years to a wonderful guy &
we have 3 great kids & two adored grandchildren. I come from a
big Italian family & share a special closeness with each of my
brothers, my sister & my mom & dad. My family is my whole world
& I’m lucky to have such a wonderful one filled with lots of
uncles, aunts & cousins in addition to my immediate family. I‘m
also a loyal friend & value the friendships I have. I’m
completely honest in my friendships ~“what you see is what you
get” a dear friend once told me. I was close to all my
grandparents but especially close to my maternal grandmother. I
was lucky enough to have her until I was 48. I dedicated a page
on my website Tutti Chic to her & it was because of her that I
developed my love of all things vintage & romantic. Tutti Chic
means “all things chic” in Italian.
Now
about the Lucy thing …My life truly mimics a Lucy episode most
of the time. I have a wicked sense of humor & a lot of creative
energy & am always up to something. It’s not unusual for my
hubby to come home & find that the whole house has been changed
around again or a whole room painted in the 8 hours that he’s
been gone. I’m always in trouble with my “Ricky” because of my
absolute love of shopping (just like Lucy was) & go to some
pretty insane measures to hide things, only to be found out &
told that “I had some splainin to do!” My husband is a steady
sweet guy who shows he loves me everyday, He is the calm to my
storm…always. I even have an Ethel ~the level headed friend who
is always trying to talk Lucy out of her madcap adventures! I
love to laugh & try to find the humor in most everything. When I
have the occasional bad day, a re-run of I Love Lucy or any
comedy usually does the trick.
I
work outside from May until November doing garden design &
actually plant & maintain everything I design. I have a special
fondness for container planting & love to find old antique urns
& make them beautiful with favorite annuals & perennials. I am
lucky enough to have the entire winter off which allows plenty
of time to work on my website. I feel blessed that the work I do
all year long is creative & so much fun! I love antiquing &
looking for fabulous vintage treasures, furniture that needs
some tlc & architectural salvage. I love giving furniture,
frames, or architectural pieces new life with a coat of paint or
a few hand painted flowers. I feel so blessed to be able to live
the kind of life I do & to pursue the things that make me so
happy!
